Erik Persson is a fungi nerd with a special interest in the habitats, site requirements and function of mycorrhizal fungi in boreal ecosystems. He grew up and lives with his family in Umeå in northern Sweden but also spends a lot of time in Nordingrå, Ångermanland county. Together with Helena Björnström and Petra Wikström, he runs the project “Boreala svampskogar” in which he works part-time at Protect the Forest.
