Privacy Policy and Terms
Protect the Forest (org.nr: 802445-0168) is committed to protecting your personal data and ensuring transparency in how we process it and how you use our website and donate to us. This policy and these terms and conditions cover data protection under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), use of the website, donation terms and conditions, and copyright.
1. Privacy Policy
We collect personal data such as:
– Name, email, phone number, address.
– Preferences (e.g., environmental issues you care about).
– Online identifiers (e.g. IP addresses, cookies via Google Analytics).
– Donation-related information (e.g., payment details, donation history).
Data is collected directly from you (e.g. via website, promotions, surveys) or through trusted third parties.
We use your information to:
– Communicate about campaigns and their impact.
– Invite to petitions, volunteer work, or donations.
– Analyze and improve communications and campaigns.
– Prevent fraud and comply with legal obligations.
– Protect our forms (e.g., contact forms, donation forms, and petition pages) from spam and automated traffic using Cloudflare Turnstile; The service only processes technical data (e.g. IP address) and not the data you enter yourself in the forms.
Legal basis: GDPR Article 6(1)(f) (legitimate interest) to keep supporters informed, or Article 6(1)(a) (consent) for e.g. marketing emails.
We use cookies to improve the functionality of the website and analyze usage (e.g. via Google Analytics). Manage cookies in your browser. Read more at allaboutcookies.org.
We do not sell, trade or lend your information. Trusted third parties (e.g. payment providers, IT services) are only granted access under data processing agreements. Data can be transferred outside the EEA with EU-approved safeguards.
Information is saved up to and including the year after the year you last paid the membership fee or gift, and is then cleared out after the invitation to the next annual meeting. This means that data is normally stored for up to two years after your last payment, unless longer storage is required by law.
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
– Access, correct, or delete your data.
– Restrict or object to processing.
– Request data portability.
– Withdraw consent.

4. Copyright
All content on https://skyddaskogen.se/ (text, images, logos) is protected by copyright law. Unauthorized reproduction or distribution is prohibited, except for personal, non-commercial use with reference to Skydda Skogen. For permission, contact info@skyddaskogen.se
5. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by Swedish law. Disputes are handled in Swedish courts.
6. Apps and web apps
This applies to apps and web apps from Protect the Forest, today Skogsmonitor. Website, newsletters and donations are described above. If a later app collects something that is not listed here, we write it here before it does. The apps do not have an account with us, unless the app itself says so. We do not ask for names, e-mails or phones. We do not sell data and do not use advertising or tracking in the apps. What you enter is saved on your device or in your browser. It can be projects, species, notes, photos, GPS tracks, areas, imported files, monitors and settings. If the app syncs via a cloud account you have, such as iCloud on an Apple device, the copy follows that account. We cannot read it. Without such sync, the data stays on the device. When an app needs your location, for a map, registration or a GPS track, it is used for that. During a recording, location can be used even when the screen is locked. End the recording when it is supposed to end. When an app displays a map or searches in an external source, the area or search is sent there, along with your IP address. We do not save it as a profile on you. For Skogsmonitor , the recipients are Lantmäteriet, OpenStreetMap when Lantmäteriet is not in use, Apple for satellite imagery, Skogsmonitor’s map service and, in the case of species search, SLU Species Information Centre (Artportalen). An app can display a notification on the device. It does not receive push notifications from a server, unless it is stated here. You delete what you have saved in the app, or by deleting the app. You control a cloud copy with the service that syncs. Location, photos and what you write are processed in order for the app to do what you ask for (GDPR Article 6.1 b).
By downloading or using an app, you agree to these terms. Otherwise, the sections above on use, liability, copyright and Swedish law apply. Our applications are distributed through the Apple App Store and are subject to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). By using our applications, you also agree to Apple’s Media Services Terms and Conditions, which govern the use of applications provided through the App Store. The agreement is between you and Protect the Forest, not Apple. The license applies to devices you own or control and may not be resold. We are responsible for support and claims relating to the app. Apple may refund any purchase price and otherwise has no support or warranty liability. Apple and its subsidiaries may rely on these terms. What you save in the app is yours. Location, maps and species data may be incorrect or incomplete. They are not a decision by the authorities and not advice on felling, species protection, boundaries or safety.
