Protect the Forest Sweden
We are a non-profit environmental organization with a focus on forests. We work for biodiversity and the climate and for the reform of forestry to an ecosystem-based multiple use within planetary boundaries.
Our engagement is international, national, regional and local. Through information dissemination, public education, advocacy and debate, we highlight the biodiversity and climate benefits of forests and emphasize the importance of climate-proofing forests and protecting them from exploitation and depletion.
We protect the right of public access and stand up for Sami rights.
Our goals:
Transparency
We are a non-profit association and all money goes into our business to achieve our goals. The majority of our money is membership fees and gifts from private individuals, so your contribution makes a big difference to us! We are proud members of the 90-account and follow Giva Sweden’s quality code, which means that we meet high standards for finances, transparency and responsibility in our operations. We also publish an annual report every year where you can see how the money is spent and what results we have achieved.
We are also looking for project funding from politically independent organizations, right now we have funding from the Swedish Postcode Foundation, the European Climate Fund, Icebug, Hopajola and the Strangell Foundation. We have previously been financed for several years by Naturkompaniet through their Nature bonus. We do not accept funds from organizations that engage in activities that conflict with our goals. The association Protect the Forest is registered in the EU’s Transparency Register.
