Forest Monitor

Forest Monitor is a unique web service that, with the help of web maps, illustrations, graphics, animations and 3D models, brings to life well-founded facts about the Swedish forest.

Forest Monitor is a tool for environmental monitoring and sustainable management of the forest. It presents several tools to facilitate the work on environmental objectives and different types of nature conservation and climate initiatives. Skogsmonitor is a tool aimed at all types of stakeholders – forest owners and forest managers, Sámi communities, an environmentally engaged public, tourism entrepreneurs, decision-makers, government officials, environmental consultants and researchers.

Boreala Amazonas

The Boreala Amazonas project aims to map and describe the Scandinavian mountain forest belt – or Boreala Amazonas as we have chosen to call it – an area that, with its enormous size and high conservation values, is completely unique in the EU.

Despite this, there is still a lack of a uniform map layer and a detailed description of the area’s distribution, history, land use and the threats that exist from forestry, mining and infrastructure, among other things. Through web maps and a report, the project will highlight the area’s irreplaceable natural values and create a knowledge base that can be used in environmental work and forest management.
