Skogsvalet

Skogsvalet is a joint campaign run by Protect the Forest together with Greenpeace Sweden. Through a national appeal, the campaign wants to put pressure on the parliamentary parties to introduce a logging ban in Sweden’s remaining unprotected natural and continuity forests. The campaign has been supported by more than 40 organisations and networks, as well as over 11,000 individuals. This is a clear message to Sweden’s politicians: many want to see a halt to logging of Sweden’s last natural and continuity forests and a forest policy that takes biodiversity seriously. Every signature strengthens public opinion for better protection of our most valuable forests, and the more people who support the petition, the more difficult it will be for politicians to ignore the issue.

Since its launch, the commitment has continued to grow. Ahead of the 2026 election, the Forest Election is working to make the forest an obvious election issue and make the protection of natural and continuity forests a natural part of the 2026 election campaign. By reviewing the parties’ policies and highlighting forest issues, the campaign wants to give voters better opportunities to make informed choices and focus on the need for better protection for Sweden’s remaining natural and continuity forests.
