Mushrooms in Uppland’s limestone coniferous forests have received a fantastic response and more than 150 registered in the project! We are planning fully for this autumn’s mushroom inventories and look forward to when the season starts in earnest!
A good news! As part of the Swedish Species Project*, Fungi in Uppland’s limestone coniferous forests have received a grant for networking activities from the Swedish Species Information Centre.
“The activity will contribute to the exchange of knowledge between junior and senior inventors, and the participants will gain increased knowledge of endangered species in Uppland’s limestone coniferous forests.”
Among other things, it enables us to arrange course literature and mileage allowance for carpooling cars.
With the great interest in making a difference and the recognition of such authorities as the experts at the Swedish Species Information Centre, we really see that the project is needed!
*) The Swedish Species Project is a government assignment that the Swedish Species Information Centre has had since 2002. The goal is to map, describe and make available knowledge about all of Sweden’s multicellular plants, fungi and animals. The Swedish Species Information Centre (SLU) is tasked with supporting and distributing grants for taxonomic research and inventory work to discover more of Sweden’s unknown species.

The project revisits and inventories known value cores in these world-unique environments, documents species finds and writes reports that support the authorities’ prioritization of formal protection.
We have a registration form for the project – we want to encourage you all to both fill in and spread it further (will be a mapping of skills and practical information that we need when the inventory starts!).
