THE COURSE IS NOW FULLY BOOKED. NO SEATS LEFT! Lindsberg’s training centre and Protect the Forest offer a weekend course that includes a lot of practice and stays out in different forests.

Only a few percent of the productive forest land today has formal protection. The really old forest, which is the habitat for a large number of species, is becoming increasingly fragmented. Not infrequently, economics stand against biodiversity, despite the fact that Sweden has international agreements on the protection of biodiversity to relate to. The Swedish supervisory authorities do not have the tools or resources to resist the forest industry’s predatory exploitation. The non-profit nature conservation is needed, by more people being out in the forest and land, making inventories, reporting to the species portal, etc.
You are welcome to Lindsberg between 4-5 pm, at 5 pm we have an introduction and at 6 pm dinner is served. At 19-21 we get an overview of the situation in the forest, when Sebastian Kirppu and Helena Björnström give a lecture that includes a little forest history, some about the current situation and what needs to be done in the future.
Saturday is devoted to the basics of inventory, by visiting two different forest environments, where we meet several knowledgeable leaders/inventors. Sebastian and Helena will also show how the findings after a day in the forest can be compiled into a simple report, which in turn can be used in communication with authorities and others.
On Sunday we will experience a really beautiful old-growth forest. We go away a good distance from Falun, and spend the day in an inspiring environment. The weekend ends in the forest, in time to make it to the railway station in Falun by noon. 15.
