36 organizations and over 10,000 private individuals want to see a new forest policy before the 2026 election

Over 10,000 people have now signed the Forest Election petition. This is a clear message to Sweden’s politicians: many want to see a halt to logging of Sweden’s last natural and continuity forests and a forest policy that takes biodiversity seriously.

We at Protect the Forest run the Forest Election together with Greenpeace, and every signature strengthens public opinion for better protection of our most valuable forests. The more people who support the petition, the more difficult it will be for politicians to ignore the issue. Our goal is to make the protection of natural and continuity forests a natural part of the 2026 election campaign.

Since its launch, the commitment has continued to grow. Ahead of the 2026 election, the Forest Election is working to make the forest an obvious election issue. By reviewing the parties’ policies and highlighting forest issues, we want to give voters better opportunities to make informed choices.

But the work has only just begun. Have you already signed? Help us reach even more people by sharing the petition with friends, family and colleagues. Every new signature makes a difference.

So far, 36 organizations and networks have supported the petition and the number is growing every week. Our organizations represent hundreds of thousands of members and supporters. If your network or organization wants to get behind it, contact us at and state your contact person, web address and attach your logo!

A warm thank you to everyone who has already gotten involved. Together, we can make the forest a crucial election issue in 2026.
