Course in Species Knowledge and Inventory 2-4 October 2026

Protect the forest and Kursgården Lindsberg invite you to a course for those who want to learn more about forests worthy of protection, their ecology and species diversity. The course also provides a basis for how to inventory forests that have high conservation values so that these forest environments can hopefully be protected in the future.

You are either a relative beginner or have some experience, but want to learn more. The course is aimed at those who are or want to become active in a forest group. Or maybe you are prepared to join and start a forest group in your hometown because there is no one there. Those of you who just want to get involved in forest biodiversity and are curious to learn more are also welcome.

The course includes some lectures indoors about species and forest ecology, but all Saturday and all Sunday are out in the forest with practical exercises.

We start at 5 pm on Friday with an introduction and presentation of each other as well as the weekend’s content. Then there will be dinner and after that an evening lecture. The whole Saturday is outdoors and after dinner we decide together the content. Sunday is also out and will end in the forest and departure so that those who travel by public transport have time to go to Falun for the bus and train ride home until about 3 pm.

Price: The price for the course is the total price, including full board and course fee. There may be a cost for travel during the weekend, which is paid directly to the person driving the car. We carpool as far as possible.

Single room – 1200 SEK (limited number of rooms)
Double room – 1100 SEK (limited number of rooms)
Multi-bed room – 1000 SEK
No overnight stay – 1000 SEK
