Forest choice

The Forest Election 2026 was a joint campaign between Protect the Forest and Greenpeace Sweden, in collaboration with Greta Thunberg and designers Anna Maurer and Eva Callens. The campaign aimed to put pressure on Sweden’s parliamentary parties to immediately stop the felling of the country’s remaining unprotected natural and continuity forests.

Through a national appeal and an extensive election survey, we made visible the parties’ positions on the forest issue and urged the public to make the forest a crucial election issue. The campaign highlighted the importance of forests for biodiversity, the climate and Sámi rights, while warning that irreplaceable forest environments risk being lost unless urgent political measures are taken.
