On the weekend of November 28-30, Protect the Forest had a member meeting outside Gränna in collaboration with Gränna Skogsgrupp who had fixed the premises and cooked delicious food for us.
We were about twenty participants. In addition to getting to know each other better and networking, we got, among other things:
– hear a report from Helena Björnström, Petra Wikström and Erik Persson, employees of Protect the Forest, who work with fungi in limestone coniferous forests and sand pine forests in the north
- Listen to a lecture by Michael Nilsson from the association’s board about southern coniferous forests
- See deciduous forest slopes along the eastern shore of Lake Vättern, with the rare greater bark snail
- Listen to Leena Tegevi talk about the local struggle to save Ulvaskogen
- Listen to Claes Hellsten talk about Gränna Skogsgrupp’s history and what they have achieved over the years
- Hear a report from Daniel Rutschman, employee of Protect the Forest, who works with the Forestscandal campaign
- Together discuss the association’s activities.
If you missed this opportunity, there will be more member meetings in the future. Sign up for our newsletter so you don’t miss any important information from us and hope to see you at the next member meeting!
