Johan is self-employed and a forest owner in Södermanland and Uppland. After serving at the Swedish Armed Forces Interpreting School, and then a licentiate in Physical Chemistry at Uppsala University, he has built up several companies in China and Sweden. He also had his own weekly programs on Chinese television and radio for a number of years, and has written several books. In 1999 he was the host of the program Sommar i Sverige Radio.
