Forest Law Course 25-27/4 in Lindsberg

Protect the Forest and Kursgården Lindsberg, outside Falun, invite you to a weekend course on the various regulations that govern forestry. The course is aimed at forest groups in the country that are active in the work of protecting forests with high conservation values. The course aims to give the participants a good picture of the directives, laws and regulations that regulate how forestry should be conducted and what the responsibility for it looks like.

The course will give practical advice on what to think about in contacts with authorities and courts, and there will be a mix of theory and group discussions based on real and fictional cases.

It is important that you as a participant in the course either already have some experience in the subject or are very eager to learn how to do it. The purpose of the course is for more people to be able to act actively in these issues.

The leader of the course is Nils Hydén, chemist and biologist. He has worked 32 years with environmental legislation, of which 18 years as a national environmental crime expert within the Police. Nils has been an expert in the Swedish Species Information Centre’s Red List Committee for Butterflies for 25 years and is now working on the Red List 2025. He is co-author of The National Key to Sweden’s Flora and Fauna and author of the Action Programme for Endangered Species Witch Grape Meter.

We reserve the right to allocate places in such a way that members from many different forest groups and people who have not taken the course before can be given a place on the course.
